Spiritual Heritage of Uzbekistan
A calm, respectful journey to the great Islamic sites of Uzbekistan — from the Uthman Quran in Tashkent to the resting places of Imam al-Bukhari and Bahauddin Naqshband — at a pace that leaves time for prayer.
Overview
Spiritual Heritage of Uzbekistan is a 6-day, 5-night private tour of Tashkent, Samarkand and Bukhara focused on Islamic heritage: the Hazrati Imam complex and Uthman Quran, the Imam al-Bukhari memorial complex, Shah-i-Zinda and the Bahauddin Naqshband complex. The pace allows for daily prayers, and Friday prayers can be arranged. Price on request.
For more than a thousand years, the cities of Uzbekistan have been centres of Islamic learning. This journey follows that legacy with care: the Uthman Quran preserved in Tashkent, the memorial complex of Imam al-Bukhari, compiler of Sahih al-Bukhari, near Samarkand, and the complex of Bahauddin Naqshband on the outskirts of Bukhara.
Along the way you also see the great architecture these traditions inspired — the Shah-i-Zinda necropolis, the Registan madrasas and the Kalyan Mosque in Bukhara. Days are planned with time for the five daily prayers, and we can arrange for you to attend Friday prayers at a historic mosque.
As on all our tours, you stay in handpicked 4-star hotels, eat at trusted halal restaurants, and have our Arabic-speaking concierge with you around the clock.

“We travelled as a family of five and everything was arranged before we asked. The driver was always on time, the train to Samarkand was comfortable, and our guide planned each day around prayer times. My children still talk about the gondola at Amirsoy.”
“It was my first trip to Central Asia and I felt looked after from the airport onwards. The concierge answered my messages in Arabic late at night, and the hotels were clean and well located. Seeing the Registan lit up in the evening was the highlight for me.”
“A well-organised trip at a fair price. Our guide knew the history of Samarkand in real depth and never rushed us. They also recommended excellent restaurants for plov and helped us find halal places every day. We are already planning Bukhara and Khiva with them.”
